Production
Over the years, the production of “La Fornace” red wine has evolved in full respect of nature and its perfect rhythms, allowing the sale of thousands of bottles and providing its customers with a sincere companion in convivial moments.
Today, it is the young mind of Corrado, Alessandro’s son, who has come up with the ambitious and important project of expanding production to more wines by establishing a company that is environmentally sustainable and embraces more good, sun-exposed land.
Two new wines, Nova and Stasio, have been introduced since 2020, thanks to an increased yield from the Fornace vineyards and the inauguration of the new Sant’Anastasio estate with the 2022 harvest.
To date, the production of Casa Vinicola La Fornace has increased to around 4,000 bottles per year, compared to 1,000 in previous years.
DOC COLLI ALTOTIBERINI
Its characteristic ruby red colour is deep and impenetrable despite the passage of years. The aromatic bouquet expands every time you rest your nose on the glass: withered fruit, terpenic, spicy and mineral notes anticipate a pleasant palatability.

Nova was born out of the desire to experiment with new winemaking techniques, out of enthusiasm in researching other facets of our land. So it was born, like a Nova in the middle of the sky, all of a sudden without planning. During the harvest of 2022, we found ourselves with more grapes than we had ever had, and that’s when the spark was ignited, we still didn’t know how we were going to vinify it, but we knew we wanted to make something new out of it. So began the sudden search for concrete vats as new winemakers, as my grandfather used to do so many years ago.
Today we savour the refined taste, and we know we were not wrong.

The Sant’Anastasio estate was the first external expansion to our land, it’s the oldest vineyard in our village, planted in 1952, and at the time of acquisition it had been abandoned for more than 15 years. Recovery was complicated, the vegetation had completely regained the rows and the diseases were spreading through the vines. It took two years and a team of young and passionate winemakers before carrying out the first harvest, the result is Stasio, our refermented rosé. It was our first sparkling wine production, vaguely unrealistic, but we believed in it without hesitation. Today, years later, every bubble that rises up the glass is our joyful celebration song.
